Converted 1.44% traffic constinuosly since launch
Sticky Best Bets is a product feature designed for Dimers.com to optimize betting selections for users by persistently surfacing high-converting bets within the interface. The goal was to improve site engagement and streamline user decision-making while driving measurable conversion rates. It replaced an older sticky offers component and launched mobile-first, with desktop to follow.
Translating analytics and user feedback into effective interface designs. Developing rapid prototypes and conducting A/B tests for the feature. Balancing the persistent, prominent display of best bets with a clean, unobtrusive user experience, ensuring recommendations did not interfere with the main site flows. Collaborating closely with developers and analysts to integrate real-time data pipelines and UI components.
Worked directly with: 1 Product Manager (feature planning, prioritization, and post-launch performance tracking), 2 Frontend Developers (one building the component, one leading code review and QA), 1 Data Analyst (impact measurement). Collaboration was agile and highly iterative, with regular stakeholder reviews.

Balancing persistent prominence with non-intrusiveness was critical. Ensured that feature design enhanced choices without disrupting existing flows, necessitating multiple rapid design iterations and close collaboration with engineering.

The design process began with a deep dive into site analytics and user feedback to identify drop-off points in the betting flow. Initial sketches and low-fidelity wireframes mapped different ways to surface recommended bets, from carousel modules to persistent side panels. User flows were developed to test how bettors would encounter and act on these suggestions. Prototypes were created and validated in rapid cycles, with early concepts tested internally before running external A/B tests on live traffic.
The idea originated in a CRO workshop: the hypothesis was that anchoring the value of Dimers Pro more prominently within the sticky banner — rather than just surfacing best bets on their own — would reduce scrolling time and make it easier for users to move ahead in the funnel. Sticky Best Bets is a data-driven product feature within Dimers.com designed to optimize user engagement and drive conversions by surfacing high-value betting picks based on predictive analytics and real-time trends. This feature operates persistently, meaning that recommended bets remain visible and easily accessible throughout the user's site journey, helping bettors make informed, actionable decisions across a wide range of sporting events. The idea behind Sticky Best Bets was simple: make it easier for people to spot good betting opportunities without digging through endless options. Instead of forcing users to scroll and search, we designed a feature that keeps the most relevant bets visible as they move through the site. Behind the scenes, the bets are powered by Dimers' data models, which run thousands of simulations to find strong picks. But for the user, the goal was straightforward: show them clear, high-value options at the right time, in the right place. Our main aim was to reduce decision fatigue, build trust in the recommendations, and help users spend more time enjoying the site rather than second-guessing their choices.
The introduction of Sticky Best Bets led to measurable improvements including a sustained 1.44% conversion rate of featured traffic, higher average session durations, and increased retention due to seamless navigation and actionable insights.
Analytics confirmed constant conversion from the new component and provided value to users by giving quick access to bets, influencing how dynamic content was surfaced. The feature launched mobile-first, replacing the site's old sticky offers component, with the team actively tracking and monitoring performance in the weeks after launch. Small, lightweight optimizations were made after launch that only improved the conversion of the component.

Sticky Best Bets was a great project to work on that enabled me to convert high traffic that was being driven to the site in an organic manner, proving that persistent recommendations can drive measurable engagement without overwhelming users. Personally, I learned the importance of balancing product goals with user control — ensuring recommendations are visible but never intrusive.
